Manuscript Submission Guidelines and Format

  • Use the journal template to prepare the manuscript.
  • The journal recommends the use of Chicago Manual of Style with notes and bibliography documentation system.  Click the links for further details:

  • All manuscripts must be written in English or Filipino. Provide an Abtract not exceeding 250 words with a maximum of 5 keywords. Manuscript written in Filipino should have an English translation of its abstract and keywords.
  • Submit your text using Times New Roman font style, 2.0 line spacing and 12 points font size. Quotations exceeding four lines should be indented and single-spaced.  Save your manuscript as a Microsoft word document (*.doc or *.docx).
  • Manuscript should be limited from 6,000 to 8,000 words only. Book reviews should be limited to 3,000 words or less (include an Abstract and Keywords as well for indexing purposes).
  • The author must have an ORCID number prior to an article submission.
  • It is the author’s responsibility to secure permission for the use of copyrighted materials.
  • Contributions should be accompanied by a short biographical note (around five lines), which should include the author's present position and institutional affiliation, as well as email address. Please list down funding sources, if any, in connection with the research/and or writing of your paper (write none if there are no funding sources).
  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the PUP Publishing Site that uses the PKP Online Journal System. The submitting author, who is generally the corresponding author, is responsible for the manuscript during the submission and peer-review process. The submitting author must ensure that all eligible co-authors have been included in the manuscript and that they have all read and approved the submitted version of the manuscript. 
  • Submit your manuscript as an attachment indicating the following details:

Author/s Complete Name:  Surname, first name, and middle initial

Institutional Affiliation

Institutional Email Address

Title of Submission

ORCID Number

  • word Abstract with at least five keywords.
  • Attach your manuscript submission in word format. 
  • Prepare two sets of manuscript:                                                                 
    1. Manuscript with detailed entry of the following:  Author's name, Institutional affiliation, Email address, Title of manuscript, and ORCID number; 2. Anonymized manuscript as a preparation for the blind review process.  In the anonymized manuscript, the author must be reminded that the name and institutional affiliation should not appear in the body of the entire work.
